Every movement starts with a name.
And every name—if rooted deeply enough—deserves a logo that speaks.
When we began shaping the visual identity for Ashes to Exodus, I knew we weren’t just designing a logo. We were creating a symbol. A visual marker of what it means to rise from devastation, reclaim your voice, and walk boldly into healing.
This wasn’t a project I could trust just anyone with.
I’ve known Rebecca and the team at Neon Lizard Creative for over a decade. We’ve worked on projects before and her attention to detail is out of this world. In every project I’ve seen them touch, their creativity is paired with intentionality and heart. Rebecca doesn’t just design—she listens, she captures emotion, and she tells stories through color, shape, and line. As a fellow woman-owned business, her work reflects integrity, care, and a fierce commitment to getting it right.
So, naturally, when it came time to bring Ashes to Exodus to life, I called her. I knew she would handle my project with the best care. I had no idea she would adopt us as her corporate charity and donate ALL the design we need to grow and expand our budding 5013c. What a blessing.
A Logo with Soul
The name Ashes to Exodus carries layers of meaning. It isn’t just poetic—it’s a mission statement. And our logo needed to reflect every bit of that weight and hope.
Ashes represent brokenness. Pain. Humility. They are what remain after life has burned something to the ground. In the Bible, ashes mark seasons of grief and surrender—like when Job sat in the ashes (Job 2:8) or when God promised beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3). For the women we serve, the flames and ashes are real—loss, trauma, abuse, isolation. They are reminders of what’s been taken.
But Exodus is about movement. About getting up from the ashes. About deliverance, not just from harm, but toward promise. Just like God led the Israelites out of Egypt, we walk with women out of fear, instability, and shame—and into freedom, identity, and faith.
So how do you turn that story into a logo?
Neon Lizard Creative found a way.
Designing the Journey
From our first conversation, Rebecca and her team approached the design with sensitivity and depth. They didn’t just ask what we wanted it to look like—they asked what it needed to feel like.
The final logo is more than beautiful. It carries meaning.
It reflects transformation, the core of our mission.
It honors the faith that fuels us.
And it whispers of strength, resilience, and the sacred journey from mourning to joy, from bondage to freedom.
It captures the story of a woman rising—not in one leap, but in quiet, courageous steps. Steps out of the ashes and into her Exodus.
More Than a Logo
Every time I look at our logo, I see more than a brand. I see her.
I see the woman walking out her front door, unsure if she’s allowed to hope again.
I see the children whose lives will be different because their mother found safety and strength.
I see a ministry that stands firmly on the belief that God still delivers. That beauty still rises from the ashes.
And I see the fingerprints of a creative partner who understood how much that mattered.
To Rebecca and the Neon Lizard Creative team—thank you.
Thank you for listening.
Thank you for designing with heart.
Thank you for helping us tell a story that will speak, even before a single word is read.
Stay tuned as we grow and expand. If you would like to be part of our effort, please feel free to reach out.
